Pre-K Art Class—3s

Through a variety of projects and activities students will grow their love of art with one of our local school art teachers. There will be fun and collaboration as they mono-print, weave, and more in a play-centered environment. This is a great introduction to art class & camp. Students must be potty trained.

Pre-K Art Class—4s & 5s

Youth Honors Academy        

 Instructor: Kelsey Hoines              
Day: Wednesdays              
Time: 4:15-5:45 pm Grades: 7-12     
Cost: $70 per month
Dates: Ongoing   Instructor approval required for registration. Drawing, painting, collage and mixed media for serious young artists. The curriculum is designed for the current students' needs and interests. Prospective students must submit a portfolio and complete a short interview with the instructor. Figure Sketching

Instructor: Robert Hubbard    
Day/time: Tues, 6:30-8:30pm       
Cost: $105              
Dates: June 18- Jul 23 (6 weeks)
For those who want to learn to draw the body. Students will learn the guidelines for the head, face, and how to draw all the other body parts in the correct proportions. Students in the class will act as models – no nudes. Class will be structured as 3 2-minute sketches, 3 5-minute sketches, and 2 20-minute sketches on the sketching days. Students will bring 1 18x24 newsprint pad, all other supplies provided.

Painting: Forging Ahead

Instructor: Robert Hubbard
Day/time: Wed, 6:30-9:00pm
Cost: $115 Dates: Jul 24-Aug 28 (6 weeks)
Oil, acrylic, watercolor, tempera, or pastel painters welcome – come and “forge ahead.” You will be pushed out of your comfort zone, invited to try new was of painting. If you are stuck, stagnant, sluggish, or any other “s” word, this class will help you move forward, regardless of your ability level. Students will present their situation to the teacher and be assisted in moving past them. Students furnish their own brushes and paint materials, canvases and papers will be provided.

Let’s Take it Outside – En Plein Air Art

Instructor: Robert Hubbard
Day/time: Wed, 6:30-8:30pm
Cost: $80 Dates: Jun 12-Jul 17 (6 weeks)
We will venture outside to paint, draw, or sketch. The first “set-up” class will be at MAC Art Studio for getting to know each other and setting up each session. Each date will be at a different location around the city. The teacher is there to help guide and assist. You may paint with any medium, draw with a tool of your choice. The last minutes of each class will be for group critique. All supplies furnished by the student.
