Ragg Coiled Baskets

Coil baskets have been around for thousands of years; they were used by the Plains Indians as storage and decoration. Students will learn the basics of coil basket making and then make one of their own. Students should bring a large spool of ¼” or ½” nylon boat cord or clothesline cord (light colors work best), a #K/101/2-6 50mm crochet hook, printed fabric (even old t-shirts will work), and a pair of sharp scissors. Yarn may be used instead of fabric (MAC will provide the yarn). 

Crocheted Rag Rugs

We'll turn trash into treasure using just a crochet hook and unwanted fabric. Learn all you need to know in this one session. Participants will need the following crochet skills: Single Crochet, Double Crochet, Stitch Increase. Size Q crochet hook provided for the class or you may bring your own.

Beginner Quilting

Date: Wednesday, Nov 6
Time: 6-9pm
Cost: $45
We'll walk you through the basics of making quilts. You'll learn how to choose fabric, cut and piece blocks, make a quilt "sandwich," and finish with binding. Students must bring: Sewing machine, neutral color cotton sewing machine thread (white/ivory/light gray), fabric scissors, sewing pins. Fabric provided.
