You will no longer need to schedule an audition appointment. You may still fill out an online audition form prior to auditioning or fill one out in person when you arrive to audition. Masks are still required during auditions. Social distancing will be observed.
All ethnicities are encouraged to audition.
What to Expect During an Audition
No preparation is needed for auditions for most Manhattan Arts Center shows.
Please arrive between 7 and 8pm either night of scheduled auditions and fill out an audition form (you can also fill out an audition form online, but you will still need to come in to audition).
You will typically have a chance to read through the passages from the script that the director has selected.
All ethnicities are encouraged to audition.
(Note: For musicals, please come prepared to sing a song no longer than 2 minutes, and bring sheet music if you would like accompaniment. Also, while not all roles in musicals require dancing, please wear comfortable clothes and shoes for a short dance audition.)
Please see the show page for specific audition instructions.
Auditioners under the age of 18 are required to have parent/guardian consent to participate.
If you are not cast, we welcome your participation in backstage roles.
Staged readings may, occasionally, hold auditions, but anyone interested in participating in a staged reading should contact the MAC Office to be put in touch with the director of the staged reading.
