Adult (14+) Clay Classes

Class enrollments are limited to allow for distancing. Masks required and supplies are not shared. 

Mixed Level Wheel –Mondays

Dates: Jun 7-Aug 2 (8 weeks, no class Jul 5)                
Day: Mondays        
Time: 6:30-8:30pm        
Cost: $165 (Includes up to 25 lbs of clay, additional clay available for purchase)
For beginners and experienced potters, learn to throw on the wheel and create both practical and beautiful pieces of art. Learn the basics of throwing and glazing or expand your knowledge with more advanced techniques and pieces! Students in this class may also attend bi-weekly. Open Studio free of charge two times per week while enrolled (does not include the cost of clay for Open Studio).

Throwing clay on the potters wheel

Kyle Johns has been teaching our adult clay classes in Spring 2021. 



Kyle began his studies at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). Following undergraduate, he received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Ohio University. While at Ohio University, Kyle participated in a six-week residency at The International Ceramics Center in Kecskemet, Hungary. He also was a studio assistant at Arrowmont School for the Arts and Crafts, returning several times as a workshop assistant. Kyle has been a resident at Red Lodge Clay Center and The Archie Bray Foundation. He taught at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Harvard University, and is currently a resident and instructor with Kansas State University.
