Character Drawing for Manga and Comics 12+ Kenton Casey Saturdays Sept 23 - Oct 28 10:00- 11:30 am $115 This class is an introduction to drawing the human body for the purposes of character drawing in manga and comics. We will cover basic human proportions from head to toe. We will rotate the body to draw it from multiple angles, accurately draw different poses, and learn to draw the face, rotating it accordingly as well. Drawing

How to Plan Out a Large Painting 16+ Robert Hubbard Wednesdays Oct 11 - Oct 25 6:00 - 8:30 pm $100 Students will learn how to plan out a large painting: How to secure a grid, where to draw in a grid, and how to secure what is drawn on a grid. Painting a Large Painting 16+ Robert Hubbard Wednesdays Nov 8 - Dec 20 6:00 - 8:30 pm $175 You have taken the "How to Plan a Large Painting" class and now you will learn how to attack the painting you have planned out. Others may join in and have large canvases, so the goal of this class is to learn how to attack the canvas from start to end.  Painting
Let's Do a Landscape 16+ Robert Hubbard Thursdays Oct 12 - Dec 7 1:00 - 3:30 pm $200 Students will plan and complete an acrylic, oil, or watercolor landscape. You will learn how to prepare your surface, draw your subject or focal point, mix colors specific for your artwork, and then paint the full painting. Painting
Private Art Lessons 16+ Robert Hubbard Tuesdays Sept 5 - Dec 12 9:00 am - 4:00 pm $450 These classes will be open to all adults who would like to dive deeper into their painting studies. Each session is 90 minutes for 1-3 students. The cost is a flat rate (3 students for a single slot can thus share the cost). Sessions are every other week for 12 weeks (Total 6 sessions).

Advanced Wheel Techniques 14+ Justice Catron Thursdays Oct 12 - Dec 7  6:30 - 8:30 pm $205 This class is the next step after taking mixed-level wheel classes. We will focus on advanced throwing techniques including alterations, sectional throwing, and repetition for reproduction. We will also examine glazing from the perspective of active decision making from project inception. All participants must have previously taken MAC’s Mixed Level Wheel Throwing class and receive final enrollment approval from the instructor. Clay
Underglaze Techniques 14+ Joni Speirs Fridays Oct 20 - Nov 3 6:30 - 8:30 pm $95 Immerse yourself into the wonderful world of underglaze and it's application and uses. This class is all about PAINTING on your ceramic work. This short 3 week intensive course will cover a broad range of skills and appliques for underglaze. Learn to paint narrative in both the abstract and semi-realistic as well as decorative patterns. There are no prerequisites for this class.  Clay

Holiday Gift Making All Ages Justice Catron Saturday December 2 1:00 - 3:00 pm $60 Make unique gifts for those you care about. Participants create their own projects and are encouraged to enter the class with some idea of what you are making and for whom. The instructor will help you realize your vision. Holiday Décor Making All Ages Justice Catron Saturday November 4 2:00 - 4:00 pm $60 Make one-of-a-kind holiday décor objects for your home. This could include special ornaments, luminaries, candle holders, and so much more. The only limitation is your imagination and the class time. This will be a handbuilding class and the throwing wheel will not be used. All ages are welcome. Younger participants will require adult assistance. Monotype Printing with Stencils 14+ Mary Gordon McFall Tuesdays Sept 12 - Oct 24 6:00 - 8:00 pm $160 Monotype/monoprint is a printmaking process in which the ink is rolled onto a slab, manipulated in some way, then transferred to paper using the pressure of a press, or baren to create unique, one-off prints. Monoprinting with stencils can allow for interesting textures, colors and residual effects! Demonstrations will include various inking methods, layering, collage, and how to safely & successfully print using the press. Most of class time will be set aside for play and experimentation. Print N' Sip 21+ Mary Gordon McFall Saturday October 7 3:00 - 5:30 pm $60 Join us for a fun, casual afternoon of printmaking! You'll learn the basics of monoprinting with stencils using the printing press and leave with one-of-a-kind prints. Students are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages. Mixed Level Metal Smithing and Enamels 18+ Spencer Lawson Tuesdays Oct 24 - Dec 12 6:30 - 9:00 pm $199 This class is tailored to accommodate students of varying experience. Beginning students are given an introduction to the basics of metalsmithing (forging, riveting, stamping, soldering, and the proper use of metal tools), as well as enameling. Experienced students will advance their skills under personal instructor guidance. During this 8 week course we will be using copper and brass to make a variety of projects. Bring your ideas!
