Group Cello Classes

Modeled after our Group Violin classes, these new cello classes are for 4th and 5th graders who have never played cello. Use of a cello is included in the tuition.  As we are able to acquire more cellos, we’ll be expanding the program to more grades!  

Group Cello - Fourth Grade

Instructor: Brett Lytle        
Day: Monday
Time: 4:30-5:10pm
Dates: Sep 20-Dec 13 & Feb 7-May 2 (no class Nov 22 or Mar 14)
Grade: 4th grade
Cost: $450 for the year (24 weeks, 12 fall, 12 spring)**
Location: McCain Music Building, KSU
Class size is limited. Designed as a one-year curriculum, these group classes focus on posture, bow hold, and the mechanics of how the hands coordinate to play the instrument, as well as learning to read rhythms and notes and playing together. All sessions include the use of a cello that students will be able to take home. Practice outside of class is expected.

Time: 4:30-5:10pm
Dates: Sep 23-Dec 16 & Feb 10-May 5 (no class Nov 25 or Mar 17)
Grade: 5th grade
Cost: $450 for the year (24 weeks, 12 fall, 12 spring)**

**Scholarships are available for school-age students whose household income qualifies for the federal free and reduced lunch program. We also offer a Military Discount for MAC classes. Only one coupon may be used per registration. For more information, please contact MAC prior to registration. 

If you have a cello you no longer use, regardless of condition, please consider donating it to our cello program! Our cello program is supported, in part, by a Caroline Peine Foundation grant.

Group Cello classes are taught by our cello instructor, Mr. Brett Lytle. The classes will meet in the McCain Music building on the KSU campus. 

This class abides by the COVID-19 policies set by KSU and the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. 

Parking on the KSU campus is at the discretion of the student's family. Please follow all posted signage.
