‘Tis the season for something truly special! The wait is over, and our beloved Annual Holiday Art Market is back, transforming our space into a winter wonderland of unique, handcrafted treasures.

This year, skip the big-box stores and discover the joy of shopping small and supporting local. Our market is a vibrant celebration of our community’s incredible talent, featuring a curated selection of gifts crafted with heart and skill by the amazing artists and small businesses right here in our area. From beautifully crafted jewelry and pottery to stunning prints, cozy textiles, and one-of-a-kind holiday decorations, you’ll find the perfect, meaningful gift for everyone on your list.

Annual Artists Contest

Theme: Unraveled

"Unraveled" is about deconstruction, vulnerability, and revelation. It’s the peeling back of layers — in fabric, in memory, in society, or in the self. This theme invites artists to explore what happens when things come undone: when patterns break, when stories are exposed, when chaos reveals hidden beauty.

Artists may enter their artwork to win a cash prize of $300 and have their work displayed in the MAC lobby for a month.  The winner is formally announced and the prize is awarded at the MAC & Cheese event, winning artwork is exhibited at MAC & Cheese, artist is invited to speak at the event.

Open to all 2D and 3D media. The only requirement is that the winning piece must be able to be transported and displayed safely at the MAC & Cheese event and the subsequent gallery exhibition.

  • Digital images of the artwork.
  • Completed entry form
  • Artist statement/bio.
  • A brief description of how the work connects to the theme.

Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 and up with a connection to Manhattan, Kansas.

  • Annie the Musical

    December 5 - 7, 2025

    The sun’ll come out ... this December with Annie! This timeless musical brings to life the plucky red-headed orphan, with unforgettable songs like “Tomorrow” and “It’s the Hard Knock Life.” Annie is a heartwarming holiday treat for the whole family. 

    Performances: December 5–7 & 12–14, 2025

    Friday & Saturday performances begin at 7:30pm.
    Sunday matinees begin at 2:00pm.

    Doors open 30 min before the performance begins.

  • Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery

    Jan 10, 2026

    A humorous adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 1902 Novel "The Hound of the Baskervilles," a must-see for mystery lovers and comedy fans alike!

    Performances: September 12-14 & 19-21

    Friday & Saturday performances begin at 7:30pm.
    Sunday matinees begin at 2:00pm.

    Doors open 30 min before the performance begins.

Application Review Process

The Manhattan Arts Center’s Gallery Committee reviews the submissions sent to MAC, and selects artists for 4 to 6-week shows.

Applications are due Oct. 3, 2025, for consideration for the following calendar year.

The focus of our exhibits is local and regional artists with strong ties to the Manhattan, KS community.
