Space No. 1 - Mary Margaret Sims
Exhibit: August 22 - September 19, 2025

Reception: Friday, August 22, 5:00-7:00pm

Enjoy and immerse yourself in this colorful exhibition.  Artist and designer Mary Margaret Sims seeks to make, "luscious, closed forms...offering a sense of fullness and relaxation."  Using a variety of materials including ceramics, 3D prints, metal, glass and wood, she creates spaces dedicated to self-reflection and rest.

We will also be recognizing and honoring our 2025 MAC Poster Contest Winner, Dan Nguyen, at the opening reception.  Dan will have an exhibition in our hallway gallery.  Patrons can purchase prints of the winning poster at the reception.  All proceeds go back into our MAC Gallery for the 2026 Exhibition season. 

Join us for the Meet the Artist Reception on Friday, August 22 from 5:00–7:00 PM. Free and open to the public.

MAC Galleries are free and open to the public.
Gallery hours: Tues-Fri, Noon-4:30pm (summer)

MAC Open Studios Exhibition:

For those that have been part of an open studio for the last 6 months, or have taken a class in the past year. You may be eligible to participate in the annual exhibition in the MAC gallery. The MAC Open Studios Exhibition is an opportunity for our studio members to show off the work they are most proudest of! Regardless of skill level or mastery of the craft we encourage everyone to submit a piece. The application process is fairly straightforward. Simply fill out the attached form and submit some pictures with the application to visualarts@manhattanarts.org.  For questions about whether or not you qualify and for more details contact the Director of Visual Arts at visualarts@manhattanarts.org or by calling the office at (785) 537-4420

Application Review Process

The Manhattan Arts Center’s Gallery Committee reviews the submissions sent to MAC, and selects artists for 4 to 6-week shows.

Applications are due Oct. 3, 2025, for consideration for the following calendar year.

The focus of our exhibits is local and regional artists with strong ties to the Manhattan, KS community.
